The Cultural Inclusion Committee was created as an ad hoc committee for the purpose of working with the Vision West ND Board of Directors, consortium, and administration. The Cultural Inclusion Committee will work with subdivisions, businesses, and community organizations to help new immigrant, foreign-born, and Hispanic American worker and their families feel more comfortable and included in their new environment. This involves education for these individuals to learn about the North Dakota culture in the communities to which they have moved and for native North Dakotans to learn about the culture and language of the non-native workers and their families.

Scope and Key Objectives

• Advise Vision West ND on current inclusion programs and projects

• Plan and oversee programs designed to enhance cultural inclusion

• Examine the reasons new workers and their families are moving to western North Dakota and ensure that Vision West ND remains responsive to those issues

• Provide guidance on the development of projects, programs, education, and research instruments that will help to evaluate the needs, interests, and opinions of the new population.
